A direct link? I don't think so. Is it possible? Yes mental disorders can often be much like a nerve disorder. Once a problem begins it can feed into other problems and disorders.

the cause for schizophrenia is unknown - it's not caused by any one thing. it's been found the severe stress sometimes leads to schizophrenia though, so the stress caused by bipolar disorder COULD lead to schizophrenia, but really, anyone could end up schizophrenic.
