Imagine that you are confident. See if you can fool everyone. Walk in with your head up. Speak distinctly. Smile.

Be prepared! Make sure you have all of your books and supplies ready to go, sleep well the night before, eat a light breakfast, and wear something comfortable and colorful. Red isn't good because it incites passion, and for the first day of class, you want to be calm and collected. Go with something in blues or greens. Take a light sweater with you that you can shove in your book bag because a lot of professors keep the rooms cold in the summer. Take a bottle of water and some crackers, too, but be sure they're allowed to be partaken of in the classroom(s). Take hard candy, not gum, until you know the rules of all of the professor(s). And absolutely get there early; never late!!

Actually this is a very easy question to answer. All you have to do is be yourself. Confidence is a state of mind. If you believe in yourself and in your personal abilities then you will always have confidence. Never allow what other people say affect the way you act. I have gone through this and I am telling you from my own personal life be yourself and all others around you will flock to your side. I hope this has helped you.

I'm older and have just gone back to school...i was nervous about the first day of school. I got through it by telling myself that these people don't know me or where i've come from or what my story is. I told myself i was going to put aside the nervousness and just be myself. I have made so many friends with this strategy. I NEVER tried to be something i wasn't just so i could fit into what i thought was the 'cool' crowd. Being yourself and remembering that you don't have to please everybody, is a whole lot better then not being yourself and getting into the wrong crowd! A saying that i love..."I'd rather be hated for who i am, not loved for what i'm not."

practice slow, deep breathing and realize that everyone going to class is human just like you are and is anxious just like you. The tense, stressed feeling will not last too long, probably only the first 10 minutes you get to class, until you get situated and see who your teacher is, and whos in your class, and you will be worrying all of this time for maybe 10 minutes of uncomfortableness.....not all of the attention is on you......you are there to learn...if you make some friends along the way, great. If not, your there to learn anyway......

Don't worry about it. Think positive. Instead of thinking about being nervous think about what you hope to get out of the class. You're there to learn so don't be afraid to ask questions.

I wouldn't worry about it. Every other girl is trying to do the same thing. Not only girls, but guys too! Most people are going to be only worried about themselves! Dress nice, smile and see old friends. Worry about style later!

Put a smile on your face and hold your head up high. Look in the mirror and tell yourself how wonderful and smart you are, and go tackle school.
