Amber Alerts are being sent to cell phones but YOU have to sign up or they won't.
I feel it should be a federal law.
I am working on sending this to congress once I am settled with other priorities.

If you don't agree, why?
If you do, why?

Thanks for your input.

I agree that it should be made a law. To those people that say they will get tired of hearing them after a while or to those that say there are too many laws now. Well, I pray that if you ever have a child you won't have to go through what a parent goes through when they loose their child or their child is abducted and ask their community to help them look for their child. I honestly hope you guys will never have to go through that. Thanks to Amber alerts lives have been saved and children have been brought back to their families.

I don't want Amber Alerts on my Cell Phone. I think that's a horrible idea making it mandatory. If I'm out and about I'll hear about the Alert on the radio but if I'm at home or at work I don't want my cell phone beeping. A lot of people don't even have cell phones or text message capabilities. If people want to sign up for it, that's fine but having the government mandate what we get sent to our phones is a bad idea.

I think it should be a federal law. The more aware we are the faster we can find missing children. Most people don't know how to get alerts and assume the news will tell them.

No I don't think it should be, just because if someone hears the alerts so much they will get tired of hearing them and ignore them, I know that I would after a while.

Yes. It has saved many lives already and is also a system that could be used to notify persons in a national emergency. It is just plain good sense, which doesn't come along every day.

No.

We have enough laws and enough government interference in private enterprise.

One you involve the Feds in any facet of life, you can bet they will only want more.
