If you have what it takes, they pay you and don't try to make you pay. Probably you do not have what it takes. Go to a different agency or open calls in new york. The model things that make you pay and sign you to a contract are pretty much total scams.

Only trust a REAL modeling agency. Do NOT pay anyone. If you really think you "have what it takes", then go to New York to some of the major modeling agencies such as Elite (www.elitemodel.com). They have open calls every week. Just show up. If you really have what it takes, they will sign you- and you don't pay a dime. When they get you work, they will take their money off the top, then pay you. Good luck, and be careful!

Open Calls:
ELITE NEW YORK
3:00 PM every Monday except for holidays.
404 Park Avenue South, 9th Floor
New York New York 10016

ELITE MIAMI
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM every Wednesday.
119 Washington Avenue Suite 501
Miami Beach, FL 33139

ELITE LOS ANGELES
3:00 PM - 3:30 PM every Monday and Thursday
345 North Maple Drive Suite #397

It's a scam if you have to pay first to do any type of job then it's a scam. They will take your money and forget about you. I was sucked into one of these modeling agency type scams years ago. If it were real then they would pay you not the other way around.

I suggest going to an open call. Agencies pick and choose the ppl they want. I also suggest calling around the L.A. area they seem to have every thing for up coming models.

from model to future model : )

Go some where else. It depends on what state you are in. I think that those up front fees are a real clue that they do not have enough money to cover themselves and pay for your work.. It is wrong.
You should try going to open calls --there are plenty of those. you just show up in something casual and they pick you if they need you. If you are under 23, you have a great chance, no matter what you look like, so go for it.
We are going to an open call this week.

It is not legitimate if they are asking for money.
The only thing you should pay for at this point is really good photographs to build your portfolio and then pay for sending that portfolio out to reputable companies- or go audition for "America's Next Top Model."

A real good thing to do is go over to maybe London or Paris, and start a career over there. You see I'm trying to also start a modeling career, and after high skoo i plan on going over to Paris or London to start one!..another good idea is to try to qualify to be in America's next Top model if u live in the L.A area..or you know Janice Dickerson up coming show?..try to get on there! that's also a good way.

Good luck.
