Violent Baghdad deaths top 6,000 in Six months.

Mortuaries have become a focal point for families seeking loved ones
The bodies of 6,000 people, most of whom died violently, have been received by Baghdad's main mortuary so far this year, health ministry figures show.
The number has risen every month, to 1,400 in May. The majority are believed to be victims of sectarian killings.

But observers say the real death toll could be much higher. The United states Military isn't doing a very good job. In fact they are part of the problem says the news agency. Most believe the USA will go down in defeat like they did in Vietnam.

No. Our government has failed us yet again. And you know you're going to get "Saddam killed thousands of his own people." As if the US causing the death of thousands of innocent people is somehow less tragic.

The reason that we failed in Vietnam is because they were backed by the Soviet Union. The reason why there are so many dead is because the insurgents keep killing people. All our military can do is try to keep some order. The insurgents want to destroy Iraq's new government. If they succeed they will setup a government kinda like what Afghanistan had. Taliban rule. You really should read up on it. We never wanted to go to war but sometimes things happen that force you into that situation. Sad but true. There is a lot of progress being made in Iraq. The people dying over there is a sad thing. Do you have a solution?
I would like to see who is supporting the insurgency and have them brought down.

The 'freedom fighter' insurgents are murdering via terrorist attacks all those people. It is not the US's doing, but the Iran & Syria-backed terrorists.

This is the price they're paying to regain their democratic freedoms. This is why they're enlisting in the military and police in large numbers.

Your comparison of Iraq and Vietnam shows a very weak grasp of facts or history. Too many drugs?

The U.S. could take care of Iraq if they really wanted too. The Military is do a FANTASTIC job. You can't believe everything you hear on t.v. If you don't think they are going a good job; then you get over there and fight for them.

We have not been defeated nor will we. The animals over there fight like cowards, they dont fight face to face, or follow the coventional rules of war. They use suicide bombers and suprise bomb attacks on our troops, and they hide in there caves or underground or whatever it is they go. That is why this so called war has dragged on much longer then it should have.

Imagine the death toll if we let that madman stay in power!

As fare as being defeated, 'like vietnam', the only way that will happen is if cowards like you continue to undermine the U.S. troops, like cowards like John Kerry and jane fonda did.

Rumsfeld thought Iraq would be a cakewalk. He was wrong. Now if we pull out and Iraq isn't ready to fend for itself, we'll have a really big Iran to deal with. So we're kind of stuck. Remember, it's one thing to point out mistakes, it's another thing to root for failure.

I really don't think they knew what they were getting into.... so I am sure that the future that they thought that was going to happen was like peaches and cream....

in reality all we had to do was cut iraq into three parts kurdish, sunni and shi'te and we would be done by now...

How can we go down in defeat when we destroyed the Iraqi gov't in 3 weeks? Maybe we could just leave those sand monkeys to kill themselves, but that isn't defeat.
