So when do we start the new party?
Personally, I'd like to find a political party is fiscally responsible, socially active and is 100% against invading private lives.
As a friend once described me: my head is a Republican, my heart is a Democrat and my body is independent.

I think we all recognize that the differences between the parties are small. The two-party system is also so ingrained that it will be almost impossible to start a 3rd party that can really compete.
To me, you should look at your local representatives (State and Federal Congressmen and Senators). Do those individuals have the same beliefs as you? If not, work hard to get someone else into their office at the next election. We cannot change the whole system at once, but we can elect people who are not career politicians, or at least people who have the same beliefs as us, and will fight to fix things, one position at a time.
It is the politicians currently in office who made it the way it is. Change them!

Americans are, for the most part, stupid, and that's why nothing will change.
Simply changing political parties will not solve a thing. The only thing that will fix America is a second revolution. Unfortunately, as well as being not too smart and easily manipulated, Americans also lack the stomach for what needs to happen.

WE ARE LIED TO ON A DAILY BASIS BY OUR GOVERNMENT. THE MEDIA HAS A EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THIS. I WOULD NOT SAY THAT AMERICANS ARE STUPID, BUT WE, AMERICANS DON'T HAVE MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM, AND ITS ABOUT CHOOSING THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS. SO INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING WHY NOT FIGHT FOR A CAUSE. people aren't going to stand up for change. they talk a good game, but...................................same thing here at work. (small fries i know, but still a good enlightening example). i'm always in trouble for standing up for myself and speaking up when things aren't right. i could go on and on, but honestly. hey, maybe i'll post a question about it. get the "yahoo communitys opinion".
