On how far you should go on the first and subsequent dates will depend on the girl. Keep her interests at heart, do not get too assertive over her.

every person is different you just have to go with the flow. we let you guys know what we want in little flirty ways. has she laid her hand on your leg? smiled and kept eye contact with you the entire date or did you notice her looking around more at other guys/girls than she paid attention to you? did you make her blush when you gave her a compliment? i know personally I don't blush for some one I don't attractive. there are a million sighs to watch for. Yes, I know its a pain. so if you want a kiss at the end of the date..the best thing to do is ask her if you can kiss her. It shows respect, and you'll know for sure if she is into you by what kind of kiss she gives you. If she turns her cheek to you instead of her mouth....then you really ought to find someone else to go out with next time.(or start carrying breath mints) if she lets you kiss her on the mouth..make it sweet and gentle, then pull back a little...with in an inch of two of her mouth... and smile at her while looking into her eyes. if she wants to go any further than that one kiss..she'll more than likely kiss you right back, and deepen the kiss to what she wants. I don't know if any of this makes any sense....I just know the things that myself and friends have done to let a guy know how we feel with not embarressing ourselves or hurting his feelings.

No act like a gentalmen and I would go on a second date no problem. If I wait by my door after you walk me to it that means that I want you to kiss me. Don't go any farther than that or you won't get a second date.

second=kissing optional, not too far, be polite and play it by ear, maybe bring roses.

third=kissing mandatory, bring present or something, take her someplace fancy, but not too fancy.
