One summer I went to the local library and had the librarian recommend 3 authors. I started with one (It ended up being Grisham) and started with his first book, then the next, and finally by the end of the summer I completed 7 of his novels.

Even though Grisham has a lot of books which turned into movies, most of his books are different than the movie.. like the Firm for example. Even though I saw the Tom Cruise movie, the book was so different, it was so captivating that I couldn't put it down. 4 hours later I was done!

A great romance novelist is Judith McNaught and I also like Julie Garwood. They aren't super mushy and they heroine is very strong. Some of the books are absoutely hilarious. Give those a try... your library should have those 2 or go to ebay or amazon.com and get a used copy.

The easiest way to solve that is to spend about an hour in the young adult section of any book store. There are endless choices and you can read them while you are there. Make that your thing to do this summer if you really like to read. You may even find some books you want to purchase and build your library or to re-read them later. A cheaper way with fewer new books is to do the same thing at your local library. If you are not allowed to go out, ask someone to use their VISA and go to amazon.com, browse for books and make some purchases on sale. You can also check out scholastic books on the Internet and make purchases at a low rate. Enjoy.
