save your money and spend $85-130 on a world beauty straigtener...they're the best. I've gone through 5 different straighteners ranging from 12-150 dollars, But for the past 3 out of 5 years I've been straightening my hair, I've been using the same world beauty one, it's amazing, it even made my hair shinier too!

You should save the money for a good ceramic iron. I personally have a Chi and have had it since 1997 it still works miracles. If you buy a cheaper one you will have to replace it as the quality will not be as good so in the long run you will still be spending the same amount of money so you might as well start with the best.
My hair is impossibly wavy, won't even blow dry completely straight. With a Chi it makes it super straight and shiny.

i have a CHI and it works wonderfully. i know you said you wanted something less expensive, but just hear me out, you can get a good CHI for about $100 and it is an extremely good buy. i have wavy blonde hair and i straighten it almost everymorning. its ceramic so it doesnt do the damage that other straighteners do. i really believe you should save some more and splurge on a CHI because its a good buy and you can keep it for a long long time.. best of luck finding one ; )

Go to your local Sally Beauty Supply (or check online) or drugstore--they've got really good ones. I've tried those and professional straightening jobs, because my hair is so thick and curly. They've worked a little for me--not as much as I had hoped--but they were worth the try. What I've done is just given up and accepted my hair--and using Dove shampoo and conditioner with the weightless moisturizers is what, to me, works the absolute best for thick, curly hair.

good luck trying to maneuver that thing. It looks like a death trap. No suggestions, though. I have a CHI - best money I ever spent. Why don't you try saving for a few months. Because you will have to buy a new one in a year if you go cheap.
