I can understand the concept of faith but it's "blind faith" that I have a problem with. Why is it that so many people are willing to let their lives be lead by a book written 2000 years ago by an invisible person especially when so much pain and horro have been done in the name of this almighty diety? How do you explain this faith to someone who does not have it? Please do not pity me or pray for me or any of that nonsense. My life is beautiful without deluding myself but I would like to try and gain a better understanding of your position as understanding opens the door to acceptance, something I feel that those of faith are sorely lacking in.

Guess I should have been more specific about this but those who are not religious need not answer especailly if you are going to be stupid about it. Be accepting of divergent points of view or be gone.

I think that faith is only partially blind. It's a blind leap to take the first jump into believing it if you didn't grow up on it, or if life has led you away, but my experiences have led me to see my faith as faith in something i have experienced.
The Bible might seem irrelevant to those who haven't read it (no assumptions or accusations about you intended!) but I find it to be full of stories and advice and truth that withstands the test of time. Just like we can read stories written by Shakespeare and understand them today, even though the culture is different, we can see that the Bible's command to love your neighbor and serve those around you brings you to a full life here on earth.
That is the part that isn't "blind faith" for me - that life on earth is improved when you live with faith. I've seen that first hand in my life and in the lives of others. The "blind faith" is whether or not God is really real and whether or not there really is a heaven, but if there is, it'll be awesome when I get there, and if there isn't, I'm making life better for at least a few people during my time on earth.
The people that have done bad things and supported it with the use of words from the Bible are just twisted - it happens with everything because of human nature. The God that the Bible talks about is a God of peace, love, and reconciliation.
Hope this helps.

"BLIND FAITH" is Faith that is being taught and accepted wholeheartedly --WITHOUT QUESTION-- by 'blind people' who remain in total darkness of the Truth.
It is 'blindly accepting the whole nine yards of a [any] Church's doctrines, rituals, teachings --whether they are man-made or taken out of biblical context for their PERSONAL AGENDAS-- and its members are being instructed to DEFEND such teachings of THE CHURCH regardless of all its hypocricies, horrors and flaws!
The operative word here is CHURCH. For the most part, that is where the "blind is leading the blind... and they will all fall into the abyss." That is where the problem lies.
And people are TOO SCARED to leave the "religion of their fathers" for fear that they don't know where else to go. They'd much rather die by remaining in that same congregation with all its obvious and unsettling ERRORS in its ways.
We are instructed to depart from such FALSE PROPHETS, FALSEHOODS and LIES, as it is written...
Peace be with you!

"Blind faith" is a fact it is utilized by ability of unbelievers. faith in Jesus Christ isn't blind. Jesus is conscious the way. he's the way, the certainty and the existence. to stroll by ability of religion isn't a blind concern, yet to stroll with the aid of existence ignoring God is what takes place while as Jesus warned, the blind premier the blind, and the two fall into the ditch (or pit).

interesting thought... lf you were told dont go to this restaurant because their service sucks, the food took too long! well your gf lets say decided she wana go, so you break down and go. It turns out that your food was excellent and prompt and the service was exceptional. Would you go back? ya probably. You had to experience the dining experience for yourself to learn oh its great! or oh it sucks! Same with christianity even though I grew up in a Christian home I had to find out for myself and hit rock bottom to see the truth. My own experience will never really hit home to you because you and I dont live the same life and are different. My weaknesses may be your strengths and vice versa. So its really your own doing to find out for yourself eh

All faith is blind. If you can use reason to arrive at your beliefs, it isn't faith.
