This DLL provides an Application Framework, known as MFC (MS Foundation Classes). This framework provides an object oriented, easier programming interface for Windows. When you write an MFC application, it is almost like you are writing for another OS. No wonder it's such a large DLL. Many apps (especially newer ones) use this. If you have IE or Netscape 4.x installed you already have it on your system

I don't know how to explain exactly what it does, but don't worry about it. It's not an outside program and is part of your Windows System. If there's an error in it, though, it can look like your computer has been hacked because it can prevent certain things from opening (like Control Panel). If you're experiencing this problem you should try doing a yahoo or google search on it and see if there's anywhere you can download it from for free.
