I've hear about the stakes and things like that, but I've never actually seen or read a story where he drinks his victims blood. How on earth did Bram Stoker come up with the idea for Dracula from him?
And what's the WORST punishment you've heard of him handing down?

Actually it's Vlad Tepes 1431 -1476 ( the Impaler) and no he did not drink the blood. :) All that is the vivid imagination of a fantastic writer :)) The idea of drinking blood is not new...we all know that blood is the river of life....and he wanted to make Vlad immortal...hence he had to drink ' life giving potion - blood' i do not know this is an assumption.
So...Vlad was not drinking blood , he did not transform into a bat he was just a ruler and he did not invent those punishments....
If you are really interested in Vlad Tepes's life i suggest you look into Romanian history

rumour has it he would consume bread dipped in his victims' blood and he refused to eat anywhere but his garden where he had his enemies impaled on 6 foot stakes that were driven into the ground.
