Most scientists now believe in intelligent design. Because of the new discoveries on DNA etc. they have rejected the evolution theory.

Well, I guess that depends upon two things, do a bunch of school boy's opinions impact the teaching of science AND is the teacher doing a good job.
As to is it a disfavor, it certainly is not. It is a critical piece of knowledge if you are entering any of the sciences or engineering as well as mathematics. It is as important as gravity, the periodic table, or number theory.
The creation myths of the bible taught as science are a disfavor to you. Most of Christianity accepts evolution, only a small part dissents and they dissent because they do not understand it and reject it before trying. As a Christian, I strongly recommend that if you want a future that pays well, you understand all the science you can and that includes evolution. Do not be afraid of dissenting from a preacher if you are dissenting in favor of the truth. As various Pope's have said, truth cannot contradict Truth. All evidence points toward evolution, there is nothing that points toward creationism except the first two chapters of Genesis.
The bible also firmly states that the world is flat, the sun goes around it and the blue stuff above you is a ceiling with flood gates to let the water out. Most people brush those many many verses aside as poetry, well there is no more evidence the scripture writers meant those verses as poetry than the first two chapters of Genesis, of which, Chapter 1 is in poetic form.

Well to be politacally correct both are theories meaning niether can be proven. There are scientists on both sides of the argument with good points. I think the reason schools teach eveolution is because many scientists don't want to believe there is something greater than man out there, dang male ego. But the chance evolution is true is very very slim, as there are to many problems with it (ie unprotected single cells surviving with no atmosphere, no evidence of "missing link", evidence of "extinct" creatures living in human times, etc). Everything in evolution depends on faith, just as creation does. Evolutionists are always changing their stories. Some years ago stalagtights were used to measure time, but when the Lincoln memorial was dated at millions of yrs old they decided to get a new method that sounded like it made more sense. Then a fish extinct in the evolutionists mind for 38 million years is discovered in the 1970's swimming around. Yes, evolution must be true just as how Columbus was the first person in America (sorry native americans you dont exist in 5th grade).
The other theory is creation which seems the only possible way our vast universe is possible. The earth placed nicely in relation to the sun, and our universe itself. How is something created out of nothing without divine intervention? Newton would like to know, "matter can niether be created nor destroyed, oh wait the big bang creates but other than that matter cannot be created"
Also the government cant be teaching religious issues in school, but they can teach anti christian beliefs. Seems a little odd to me.

That is unfortunate for the boys.
The simple way to prove evolution to yourself first is to think about some of the microorganisms now attacking people. SARS? HIV? Invasive Streph? Ebola? Where were these diseases 100 years ago? The answer is -- they hadn't evolved out of other types of virus and bacteria yet. So, they didn't exist. More recently they mutated, proved better able to survive, and became regular organisms. Same thing goes with the antibiotic resistent strains of different bacteria. Evolving as we speak.
Now think of limited communities in the Basque Mountains of Spain and the interior of India where having six fingers -- a DOMINANT genetic trait -- now exists in significant numbers of people. Over thousands of years it will completely dominate, and everyone will have six fingers -- in perhaps 10,000 years. The human race will have evolved to a new milestone, and as strange as we think people with six fingers now look -- they will think we look just as strange.
Evolution is happening all the time. We are all a work in progress.
So the teachers are only doing a disfavor if they are allowing themselves to be talked out of teaching something that is VERY true, VERY relevant, and helpful to understanding the real world.
The boys have probably been brainwashed, and that is unfortunate, the smarter of them will get over it when they start seeing reality. You could start by proving to them that they have the same number of ribs as the girls -- no girls were NOT created out of boys, as given in the old biblical myth. Sorry.
If I can help contact me.

No one can say for sure if evolution is true because it hasn't been proven. The theory of evolution is backed up by tons of evidence and though no one can say it's true, we can say that it's likely to be true. Your teachers are not teaching you fact, they are teaching you a theory that is based on everything we know so far, which is the best anyone can do.

Apparently your teachers did you a disfavor because they didn't teach you correct English. If you can't understand that, then you probably can't understand the scientific truth of Evolution either.

Evolution is not true.
However, some people adopt the idea because it frees them from any sense of responsibility and they get a kick out of Bible bashing.
Allow me to quote Science Digest magazine when the question was asked why are there so many pictures of "ape-men" in museums.
It said: "The majority of artist's conceptions are based on imagination."
The book 'Biology of Race' says:
"The flesh and hair on such reconstructions are filled in by imagination."
Why must imagination be used?
The New York Times wrote: "The known fossil remains would fit on a billiard table."
Science magazine added: "The evidence is a pitifully small array of bones."
Fact is, it takes more faith to believe evolution than in God.
Perhaps many of the boys in school see all too clearly through the sham!

If you can name a single time in history when Biblical "science" turned out to be right after all, then we can talk about which position is stupid. Until then, how about leaving science to the scientists instead of the apologists.

no.
teachers try to teach kids so they're not ignorant fools when they get older.
listen to them, please, most of them are really smart and just want you to listen.
evolution is a sound theory with lots of evidence. but it hasen't been proven yet, so keep an open mind.
btw. i'm a teacher and i love kids who actually want to learn and don't pretend they're smarter than me when they're not.
