Smoking has been shown to lead to increased risk of cancer. Typically a "cut" in your mouth or a "canker sore" in your mouth is not going to lead to cancer. The reason as to your grandfather's cancer was not the cut itself but more than likely caused by the carcinogens (cancer causing agents) that had acrued within the cellular tissues over his long smoking career.

So, is it possible that you can get cancer? Yes, its possible for anyone to get cancer but there are many ways you can decrease your risk and discontinuing smoking is one of them. I would advise you to ditch the habit...
