im not up on the teenager slang but the way i understand it now is if you "ask someone out" that means that you are asking that person to be your boyfriend or girlfriend and it has absolutely no connection to actually going anywhere

if this is the case, the whole thing would be better settled with a kiss, just kiss him and see if he kisses back

if you are honestly just seeking a first date, ask him to a film and see if he'll go, be sure to pay for him so he'll know it is a date
