Did you hear that to help stem the flow of illegal aliens Mexico is going to build a natural reserve (park) on their side of the border. It's going to be 600 miles long and 30 feet wide. What in the world do you suppose that's supposed to stop?

The most important thing about a question is to understand the question. I am not sure that the two words immigration and problem belong together. Sure, in some minds, this is taunted as problematical. However, we are the land of the free and home of the brave. We welcome anyone, as long as they want to contribute and make the country better for everyone.

Just as a splinter can get all of our attention, so also whatever the media want to foist off on us can get our attention.

Some times we use the words Mexico, immigration and problem together to distract ourselves from real problems that affect our country, our city, and our people directly and personally every day. I, for one, have not had an experience as a problem with any immigration from Mexico. I do experience other problems every day in this country that we could fix and do better.

The problem with illegal immigration can be partially alleviated by companies in Mexico paying workers better wages.

It is supposed to make it tougher for migrants to drive to the borders. I don't know. It seems if you can afford $2000 for a coyote, they can get you onto an ATV. It is the first sign of trying to do anything, though. I think Bush may have impressed on Fox that they need to be seen doing SOMETHING to get our bill passed.

Unfortunately, the corollary to that is that once the Bill passes, they can go back to business as usual...
