This is a bible question- am at work - and I know there are a lot of you out there who are Christians. Doesn't it say in the bible that things will get good before they get bad? If that's the case, we can't be close to the end of the world cuz things haven't been "good" -- for a LOT of people for a long time, including myself.

Oh and do you all realize that 25 years ago, they thought it was going to be the end of the world then?? Things happened back then too that made people think it might be. My oldest brother said at 16 "what's point in having kids if world ending real soon" and he is now 56 and grandpa. Sooooo....

I agree that "things will get good before they get bad" isn't in the Bible.

But I disagree with anyone who claims to know that certain prophecies have been fulfilled therefore we are at the end times. Paul (author of some books in the New Testament) thought Jesus' second coming was just around the corner, and he was writing back in the 1st century! Jesus said don't try to guess the date - just be prepared, which means don't stop loving your neighbor!

Wait... I'm also at work and I'm all for OPTIMISM, too.

But I'm confused here on two things: a] I don't know where it says in the Bible that "things will get good before they get bad..."?? And b] based on the biblical prophecies foretold, most of them, EXCEPT maybe about three or four, have already been fulfilled --meaning: we ARE at the END OF TIMES, bro...

Peace be with you!

People have been waiting for the end for nearly 2000 years. Maybe it's time to concentrate on living rather than dying.

All things are cyclical. For instance, if things are good, there's only one place it can go... things are gonna get bad. After it's been bad for a while, things will get better. Look at how bell-bottoms keep coming back...
