When humans are picked up by another human, they always yell, 'PUT ME DOWN!" ... I think it must be the same for adult dogs. They can't balance well.

I might totally enable my canine to donate blood. One among my dogs needed to have an emergency transfusion to avoid wasting her existence and if one of the vital vet techs on the vet hadn't provided up her canine that was once already there, mine could have died seeing that we didn't have time to move residence and get our different dog. It can be a nice thing to do, it doesn't damage the donor and it might very good store yet another canine's life. As long as care is taken to maintain the donor comfortable, then why now not? I would not do it excessively, however right here and there to help out, undoubtedly. Edit: To Sunny, you acknowledged that it could bother your dog. I watched them take the blood from the donor before placing it in my canine and he was once exceptional. They gave him a slight sedative and he just laid there flippantly. They all stroked him and comforted him and later on he simply sat up like nothing had occurred. He wasn't traumatized at all. If it have been distressing for the person canine, then that dog undoubtedly isn't a candidate, however I suppose most dogs would do just first-class.

you usually hold a large dog differently than a small dog due to the fact that the dog is bigger and you may not realise it. also the weight of the dog might cause it to feel like your arms are digging into it because they kinda sink .lower than a light dog. also they are probably not used to being picked up because of their size.

I have rotts and my male loves to have all 130 lbs of him held especially in a crowd if he is tired. I'll get readdy to help him have his put his front legs on my shoulders and then count to 3 and up he jumps and I support him on my hip like a kid and he hangs on my neck.

It's simply not comfortable for them. They don't fit in the crook of your arm like a small animal. It is awkward and they fear falling.

It's probalby just uncomfortable. It would be kind of wired for something not much heavier than you try to give you a cuddle.

(Maybe he just likes to walk...)
