I would think due to the exchange rate that the money you made in Europe ( 1Euro= 1.43 Canadian dollars) will take you much further in Canada. Renting a place in Canada - in Montreal is anywhere from 400-2000( for a great place) Canadian dollars/month and the cost of living is not that horrible. ( my in-laws live in Canada).
I think you would live more than decently with 50000/year-60000 in Canada. About Germany....it all depends where in Germany.
And FYI Ottawa is the cheapest place to live on the northern part of the continent :) so you might want to look into that also.
You can find lots of reports and help on the Internet.
Best of luck to you.

It is not true that living in Ottawa is the cheaper place to live in Canada. If you move to Toronto for instance, you will pay from $900-$1500 for a fair size apartment. You will to re-write your veterinary license once you get to Canada. You could move more north of Toronto and end up paying alot less for accomodations. I find Germany very expensive to live in, and the people are not so friendly here. Also the German government is getting very strict with anyone wanting to become a german. Canada is your better choice of the 2 countries

Dude, come to Toronto. Lots of smart Iranians here.

1 Canadian doller = 0.9 US dollars.

Rent is $800 a month for a cheap, decent apartment. $600 if you're really cheap, $1100 if you want a nice one bedroom.

Minimum wage is about $7 an hour and income taxes are higher than in the US. Half of Toronto is people who came here with PH'D's, worked for $7 an hour for six months, then worked for $15 an hour for 2 years, then got salaries and sent their kids to University.

Not sure if this helps, but maybe get a job at University of Toronto -- lab assistant or something. You'll make the connections to fulfill your career.

Wow, the above answers are a lot of Guesses. I am a partner at a printing company in Canada, we hire freelance all the time. If hes making money online is through his design, then just have people pay through paypal, and get a paypal debit card. Why tell anyone for tax reasons. charge a flat rate, no taxes, don't claim it nobody will ever know. If you are in the GTA PM me I am hiring designers as we speak.

By the way, before you move to Canada (if you choose to), make sure that you check your degree equivalence. I know a lot of immigrants here who weren't able to do their job because of local regulations and had to go back to University.
