I have a 3 year old mix, and I just got a border collie puppy, 11 weeks. The puppy follows around my older one constantly trying to play and be nice, but she nips and barks at him when he gets close to her or me. What can I do to make them get along??

They are getting along. Give them some time. They are working on establishing the pecking order. Let them be. Make sure you give each of them some time alone with you every day, though, so they both know they are important to you.

I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old dog. The 2 year old is a border collie mix and is very calm and the 1 year old is a lab mix that loves to play. The best solution for me is to make sure that they both get enough exercise in the day. If they are well exercised they will be less proned to wrestle with each other for exercise.

They will eventully get along. When my step sister moved in she had a dog and so did i. My poodle would try to be nice but my sisters dog Bo Bo was mean. Now they are friends.

Dogs can be so comical. Give it a little time and the older dog will become more playful.

THIS IS NATURAL AND HAS TO HAPPEN BEFORE YOU CAN HAVE PEACE IN THE HOUSE. THE OLDER DOG IS JUST TRYING TO SHOW THE YOUNGER ONE THAT HE IS THE TOP DOG AND PUT HIM IN HIS PLACE. AND THE YOUNGER ONE IS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WERE HE BELONGS.ONCE THIS IS SETTELD, EVERYONE WILL GET ALONG.
