How does any educated person believe that the world is OLDER than 6,000-10,000 years old?
OLDER ? > What EVIDENCE?
and don't give me that bunk about carbon 14 dating
***bc_munkee
just another example of an idiot who doesn't really want an intelligent answer, just likes seeing his dribble online
carbon 14 bunk
Most evolutionists today would conclude that carbon-14 dating is – at best – reliable for only the last 3000 to 3500 years.
http://contenderministries.org/evolution/carbon14.php
A few examples of wild dates by radiometric dating:
Shells from living snails were carbon dated as being 27,000 years old. Science vol. 224, 1984, pp.58-61
Living mollusk shells were dated up to 2300 years old. Science vol. 141, 1963, pp.634-637
A freshly killed seal was carbon dated as having died 1300 years ago! Antarctic Journal vol. 6, Sept-Oct. 1971, p211

Science has been wrong before. Remember Spontanious Generation? That was widely belived to be true but now many scientist know that it is not. Science has been rewritten many times because the evidence has changed. Scientist also belived at one point that tomatoes were poisionous. Perhaps carbon dating is wrong. Why would all carbon decay at the same intervals? Why would elementary particles decay in the first place? I do not know much about carbon dating but I still belive it to be incorrect.
I belive in the only universal truth. God's word.

I have never heard anyone in any of the churches that I have attended refer to the earth as being only 6,000 years old. They believe that people (Adam and Eve) were created around 6,000 years ago. I was taught that when Lucifer was kicked out of heaven and thrown to the Earth, that was actually the "meteor" that hit the earth, creating the dust cloud that made the dinosaurs extinct.
But, something to think about: if I asked God, "Please God, will you make me a big, beautiful oak tree?" and *POOF* a big, fully grown oak tree appeared in front of me...if scientists cut down that tree, ran all their tests on it, what do you think their conclusions would be? That the tree is only a few minutes old or 100 years old?

There are 3 earth ages (II Pet.3:5-7), same earth but different ages. We are now in the 2nd earth age. Between Gen.1:1 and Gen.1:2 is a vast amount of time, if time existed. Between these 2 verses is Satan’s rebellion (Rev.12:3-4) and “his tail” drew 1/3 of God’s children. Between these 2 verses also belongs all fossils and remains, such as Dinosaurs.
In Gen.1:2 we have the of the end of the 1st earth age and the beginning of the 2nd. For clarity Gen.1:2 needs to be divided (see below).
(A) Gen.1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
(B) Gen.1:2 And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
In (A) Gen.1:2 the first occurrence of the word “was” has been corrupted and is “became”. It reads “And the earth became without form, and void”. The end of the 1st earth age.
In (B) Gen.1:2 we have the beginning of 2nd earth age, the one we live in now. Man did not exist in flesh till this earth age.
Between (A & B) Gen.1:2 is also a vast amount of time, if time existed. Between (A & B) Gen.1:2 is; a global flood (not Noah’s which was a local flood), the destruction of Atlantis, the breakup of Gondwana Land, and the Ice Age.
Time means nothing to our Father. He is very patient and loves His children. Instead of destroying Satan and 1/3 of His children, He destroyed that first earth age. Now in this 2nd earth age we all are born innocent in the flesh. Father came in the flesh Himself, Jesus Christ, and paid the price for all. Father defeated Satin, that is death, legally. So now His children have a decision, to choose life or to choose death. It’s your decision. Choose life!!

Scientist are split on this issue. At least half do not believe in evolution. Many are not yet ready to discuss creation-but they are slowly leaving the theory of evolution. They now understand that what they see in nature does not add up to millions or years or evolution.
If there weren't so many scientist that doubted evolution-you would have a fair point on which to stand. You need to take your argument ot the scientist-may they can convince you. We never will be able to because you dont trust us.

If you are a reasonable person and not bias, you will look at the so called "evidence" for both sides of the issue... check out Dr Kent Hovinds web site for "evidence" in favor of a 6000 year old earth. I think you might be surprised by what you discover. Now if you are biased in your thinking on any subject, no amount of evidence will convince you other wise. By the way Dr Hovind offers a six figure reward for evidence that disproves his creation account. ~GOD BLESS YOU AND GUIDE YOU~

(same answer as before)
Many creationists claim that science actually supports a YOUNG earth as Genesis implies. They cite examples such as "not enough mud on the ocean floor" and "earth's magnetic properties do not match an older planet."
Well, its geologists, anthropologists, physicists, etc that make these scientific discoveries. If they were valid, there would surely be a multitude of scientists who believe creation is valid.
Less than 1/10th of 1% of geologists, anthropologists, etc. believe that creation is even POSSIBLE. Clearly, the evidence is against it.

From a Christian point of view...
There is none so blind as those who will not see.
All Christian would have to do is read in the bible that the earth "was" before creation started so the earth could be billions of years old and not go against the creation story

i don't know , i am even Christian , the Bible itself say that, In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth. (Gen 1 :1 )notice the word " beginning"? John 1:1 says ( not the exact words but ) God has been since the Beginning. this says to me that God was first in the beginning and created the heavens and earth right after IN THE BEGINNING. How long ago was that ? who knows ! and mortal man will never know, no matter how hard he tries
