I'd be curious as to how old your "kitty" was if she only survived 4 years since you got her (they normally live 4 times that long)??? Might want to make sure there are no poisonous items around the house. Some plants and household items are toxic to animals that you may not be aware of.
I'm not sure what exactly your question actually is, but I can tell you that every cat has his/her own personality. I have one cat who LOVES to be held, another who hates being held, and one who simply tolerates it but can't wait to be put down. You can't force a cat to be affectionate or like to be held - it's either in their nature or it isn't.
Where did you get the cat and how long have you had her? She may just be getting used to her surroundings. If she came from the shelter, she may not like to be handled because she associates being handled with getting shots, being shoved in a cage, etc. If you've had her for a while, then I'd say she just doesn't like to be held. As long as she's sweet and comes to you, I say love her for "who" she is!

Take it a day at a time and remember, like humans, all cats have different personalities. I struggled with the same thing, losing a cat after 22 years. I got a new kitty and have wished she liked her belly rubbed like my old cat or other little things, but the longer I have her, the more I love her personality for her.
It does take time for cats to adjust also, I think. Give her some time and she may become more affectionate in time.

All cats are different. Some cats just aren't very lovable or "lap cats". I have had several cats over the years and they are all different. Just love the cat for it's own personality and don't try to compare it to you old kitty. It may begin to be more "people friendly" after time.

Just open your heart.
Your new kitty will never replace your lost one, but she'll make a new place of her own in your heart.
Like people, some cats aren't as demonstratively affectionate as others but that doesn't mean she doesn't love you. In time she may become more affectionate, and whethe she does or doesn't, you'll find that you love her for who she is.

That way, you may experience useful approximately your determination and while you're making the stunning decision. 10 is by ability of no ability previous for a cat, my youngest cat died at age 14 of fatty liver ailment yet he became quite obese and suffered from a thyroid difficulty. Cats do no longer basically die at 10, yet with the aid of fact the 1st vet reported, her lungs are of outrage to the vet. What do they think of is incorrect with the lungs? maximum cancers? that could be my wager. whether it particularly is maximum cancers or another incurable ailment, i think of it would be good so you might place her down, in case you experience stunning doing so. I did enable one among my dogs die of course from maximum cancers, and it became demanding to visual show unit as you reported which comprise your final dogs. and that i did no longer have the alternative of being by ability of his area 24/7 to convenience him so as quickly as I went to artwork or college I felt so to blame and irritating the full time. i would not blame you in case you needed to attend it out yet i might certainly experience extra perfect understanding I did all i'd desire to by ability of having a company answer approximately what's quite incorrect. i'm particularly sorry to pay attention this, i've got been via it some situations and its the toughest concern to do. playstation in case you do choose for euthanasia you would be able to nicely be waiting to discover a vet to come again to your place so your cat is quite gentle and would additionally be napping peacefully. We did that for a dogs, it became lots extra straightforward to do this way.

You just fall in love with the new one, and accept that she has her own personality. the "holding" thing may come and go as she goes through different age phases. Your new one will also be a very unique individual -- just differently.

I lost my other cat nearly two years ago and we have got another cat. They have different personalities but I love them as much but in different ways. You can never replace your other cat but enjoy this kitten and he/she will enjoy you. Dont try and make it into your old cat cause that will never happen. Good luck with the kitten
