poor little nut rustler...

ok the 5 second rule... hmm... i don't know as i am held captive in this place and haven't seen roadkill almost ten years... this guard feeds me and he acts all chummy but i still want out... one day i will be free... i almost tripped him the other night as he got out of the bathtub i scooted past him and he lost his balance momentarily... if he wasn't such a fine athletic specimen i would be free of him today

I'm thinkin' it takes more than 5 seconds to get out of the pickup and make sure you really killed it! You're probably better off taking up the offer of the .22 and get yourself some fresh squirrel. Not so likely to be mangled.

*ROFLMAO* If you really want squirrel come on down to my house...I got my .22 ready and I make a mean squirrel pot-pie. (Very Tasty) The five second rule only applies to deer in the roadkill area, and you have to make sure you bleed it out immediately.

5 second rule is for already prepared food. So, if you prepare roadkill, and then drop it, then yes, the 5 second rule can apply.

No, that rule is not even true to begin with. No matter how long something has been on the ground, it's still not advisable to eat. You don't know what's been there or what something did. It's just not worth risking.

I still get shivers when I think about how Grandma cooked up a chicken that had gotten hit by a car...by the way, yes, I am now a vegetarian.
