I don't know if it is a *name* in Chinese, but it is a Chinese word. 'Ai' means 'love', 'ren' means 'person'. So literally it means 'lover' or 'beloved'. In fact, from what I understand, it is a somewhat old-fashioned way to describe one's husband or wife.
