If the bible is god's sign to mortal man, why did she wait so long to deliver it and why didn't she make it grow on the tree of knowledge instead of an apple so we wouldn't have had to wait for the printing press and then there would also be no discrepencies in the different versions?

So, cpr:
a: Gods a man - evidence for such reasoning, man was created in his image, woman was created from rib of man.
So all those riblike women are somehow inferior to the godlike men?
"Its in the bible." There are significant numbers of christians (most even?) who do not believe literally in the bible, for therein lies madness and conflicting statements. Faith may be blind, but it doesn't have to be stupid and unquestioning. Do you really believe women came from Adam's rib?

miss j: "i will pray for you". Thanks, but I don't think this really answers the question. However, if you want to waste your precious time on this earth you're welcome to, but please don't feel the need to waste it on me.

To HannaHoneLove,
Thanks for your refreshing reply to my question- however it was written tongue in cheek a little, I was just getting a bit bored waiting for the world to end today.
Seriously though, nicely answered in a pleasant non-conflict way!
tried to reply individually to you but it wouldn't go!
Thanks,
Mesperanto ;o)

Why does God need to teach anyone and not just make it so? Why do we need to read about it... unfortunatley there is a truth there that will only open a can of worms. The bible was written by man and changed a million times. It is man's interpretation of the word of God or someones fiction, we don't REALLY know. Who can validate the truth of the words. Some believe organized religion is a way to control the masses, while others say it is a way to spead peace
I think the core values/philosophies and morals are good ones and it has helped keep the world from becoming more chaotic and evil than it already is. Fear of God kept me out of trouble when I was young.
The reason the bible was writen was to record the words of God/Jesus so that it could pass from generation to generation without loss of translation, etc.

Mankind was not tested and needed no such book. Adam and Eve were innocent, if you've read the bible, and did not know what sin, grief, hate, etc. were. Are you totally ignorant or do you actually believe that God is a woman? You're question is so stupid I'm not even gonna.....

God walked with Adam in the Garden of Eden at the beginning of mankind. Since there weren't exactly a lot of people, we didn't really need a printed Bible.
I'm not sure what you mean by having to wait for the printing press. The scriptures existed long before the printing press.
If you are going to ask several questions, please do not put them all in one sentence.

I asked why it he didn't carve it on the stone tablets or into a mountain like with the 10 commandments. I also asked why it wasn't in originally in English. I didn't get any good answers though. Another question was why did Moses destroy the original 10 commandments, when we could had something to compare God's handwriting to to see if the Bible is really from him.

Why would He put it originally in English, when that language had not been developed yet?
God gave us an intellect, and one of the things people do with their God-given intellect is ... translate things into other languages!
And why would He carve the Commandments into the side of a mountain, where they could be read only by people who lived near the mountain?
God gave us an intellect, and one of the things people do with their God-given intellect is ... develop communication media through which we can carry messages (including God's) all over the world!
You seem to want God to do everything for us -- when He has blessed us with the skills to get off our duffs and do a lot of things for ourselves.

The bible is just inspired by God and not her words verbatim. But I really like the way you wrote this, very cute and thoughtful without any meanness, which is good especially in this category. It really does seem like the people who like to play in this group are the ones who want to spread hate, kind of weird for a religious questions category...

The truest response that I can give you is that Christians have a need to spread their religion over the planet. The Bible is their major sales tool. It is also thier major tool for support in brainwashing people into their way of thinking and "believing."
