Which comes first looks or personality? i just wanna know what you people think, because i think that the personality of a guy i'd like to go out with is more important than his looks, but he has to look good too, dontchya think?

I think personality can drastically affect how a person looks. So, not to say that outward appearance is not important, but personality's influence on how a person looks makes it the trump card.

Looks are important but the personality has to come first. Depends what you want out of the relationship. If it's just friends then it's not really very important to have fab looks but if you plan on having a full on relationship with some one you have to be physically attracted and you have to put that down to looks.

Any girl who says personality is more important to them in a guy than looks is talking absolute bullsh*t! No offence, but I think it's just what girls say just so they don't look shallow.
I've lost count of the number of girls who've told me what a nice, fun guy I am to be around, but see me as just a friend. Then some jerk who looks like he's just stepped out of a Hugo Boss advert comes along, with the personality of a plank of wood, and they're all over him!
Ask a girl who they would prefer, (a) a guy with a great personality, but below average looks, or (b) a guy who looks great, but with a below average personality. I'd bet the majority of them would say (a), but if they faced that scenario in real life, they would undoubtedly go for (b).
Personally, if I was posed that same question (obviously replacing "guy" for "girl") I wouldn't be able to answer. I can't afford to be that picky, so I would pick which ever one was interested in me.

Well obviously its looks first as that's what you see. However, the personality soon takes over and the most gorgeous guys looks can wane in an instant if he's boring, self-obsessed etc. So, ultimately if you love a guy for who he is he becomes the most gorgeous man on earth.

i like this guy who's good looking but not got the greatest personality as he's constantly moody and a real tart with the ladies and ive taken ages deciding on wether i should go for it. But whats the point of being with someone whos good looking but a complete ****?

to be honest looks first as that is what originally attracts you to a guy however its the personality that makes it last.
I dated a guy that could have given Brad Pitt a run for his money but my god he was dull . . . had to let him go even tho he was so pretty !
I like a good combination of the both couldn't even think of sleeping with a guy if he looked like ed burns from the simpson even if he was as funny as jim carey
are you from the uk Russell Brand - now that is a good combination of both looks and personailty with a litte crazy thrown in the mix

Obviously looks are the first thing that attracts people, but if I was talking to a girl and she had a cr*p personality then it's not something I would persue.

He'd certainly need to be easy on the eyes, but looks fade overtime, so I'd have to put personality before looks
