I think it depends on the school and the child. Some children might be better suited for public and other might need more special attention and time which I think private would be better.

Depends on what state you live in. For example, NY. People who go to private school in NY are wasting their money because the states education program is incredible. Other states without such structured state-wide education should opt for private because they probably will receive a better education.

PUBLIC!! I come from a rather wealthy family, and was sent to private school. I hated it! It's amazing how shallow kids can be. I finally convinced my dad to put in a public in middel school, and then on. I made great friends, and people are easier to talk to.
