Thanks everybody who answered my question about my Maltipoo who came down with Parvo. :) She's absoutely fine now. SO HYPERACTIVE I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. She spent the whole day running around my house. How do i calm her down? And when I'm sleeping and she's next to me, she continues to wake up and bother me as I'm trying to sleep. How can I get more sleep?

Congratulations!!! You must have given her excellent care.

Give her 1 teaspoon of dry chamomile tea, in a little ( only a tablespoon or so) wet food, such as Cesar's or Mighty Dog, before bedtime. She will sleep like a baby, and it is safe and good for her.
Dogs often act hyper after going through trauma, as do human children.

She knew she was close to death and now is overjoyed to be alive.

Make a bed for her on the floor next to the bed. When she tries to wake you to play put her in the bed on the floor. After a few times she will learn that her behavior is causing her to be punished. The bad behavior should stop in a week or so. If she is really smart maybe sooner.

Please keep a separate room for the dogs. Keep the room dark by closing the doors of main entrance and windows. Make the same DARK. Put some cushion for the dogs and tie them here.Automatically it will come to the normalcy. minimum 3 months time it takes get acquainted.

is she waking up to play or to use the bathroom.....if it is to play, try putting her in either another room at night or caging her on the floor at night.....otherwise invest in some ambien......but do not give it to the dog to make her sleep....take it to make you sleep......also try to keep her very active during the day, she may wear out and love the restful night.

Don't let the dog sleep with you. We have 5 Persians, and a Chichuahua....none of which have EVER slept with us, or even in our room. We get plenty of sleep.

Good luck

You can try crate training. It does not hurt them in any way....they actually like to have a place they can call their own....it is the den instinct. Do be prepared for some whining, she will try to play on your sympathy but she will get used to it.
