To frankly put it, yes and no, and there are set rules for dealing with it.
First and foremost, the Quran says in chapter 5:32 "If anyone slays a human being-unless it be [in punishment] for murder or for spreading corruption on earth-it shall be as though he had slain all mankind; whereas, if anyone saves a life, it shall be as though he had saved the lives of all mankind."
Every human has the right to defend himself, his family and his property, yet no one has the right to transgress nor opress: 5:87 " Verily, God does not love those who transgress the bounds of what is right."
So the only ones who have the right to take a life are those who are defending, those who have legal jurisdiction (for example for the murder of another person, like the death penalty in the US), and those fighting in a war. Even those fighting in a war are restricted in who they can harm: they cannot harm any woman, child, or elderly person in any situation, any man not wielding a weapon, any disabled person (whether physically or mentally) nor can they even harm a tree (imagine that! even a tree is precious!).

I was watching a video of a "great influential" of the religion. He was stressing the importance of killing. He used history, religious books, the torah, and the bible to show that killing was acceptable. He said, "killing for the sake of hurting others is a sin against humanity. But, giving your life--notice how killing is substituted--for G-- is not only moral and ethical but an obligation."
Now, this did not bother me. Not that much.
What bother me was that he said, "even in the bible Jesus told one of his disciples to cut one of the guards ears off." He actually said this. I was shocked.
Now, I'm not saying that the koran teaches wrong stuff, but some of the followers are simply "nuts"

I know the bible gives justification to killing enemies in the old testament.
so it wouldn't suprise me if the koran had the same thing.

The above checklist is stable, yet i'd upload "selflessness"to it. you would be prepared to permit your mate to be thierself except it relatively is damaging to the relationship. Faithfulness is likewise paramount. Infidelity, in any style, is damaging.

the Quran explains that whoever kills an Innocent soul with no rights it's like killing the whole humanity.
i can't remember the verse number.
and kill only for defence. and women and children are fobidead to be killed even if there were from among the enemy we are fighting with. also it's forbidean to kill anyone who came to us for peace. and it's forbidean to kill anyone who refues to fight us.
