There is a good reason. Only 10% of the population is exclusively heterosexual and another 10% is exclusively homosexual. The other 80% falls into a sliding scale of bisexuality. Unfortunately, our society imposes a false dichotomoy on human sexuality. This is nothing unsurprising, Americans (and especially Christians) are notoriously terrified of human sexuality and seek to repress it at any cost. This has resulted in the hetero-/homosexual binary when in fact only 20% of the population can ever fully fit that schema. for the other 80%, they have to continually repress at least some portion of their sexuality in order to adapt to society. Your friend has simply broken free of the repressive sexual binary and stopprd repressing himself. There is not a switch in the brain that turns you from homo- to heterosexual or vice versa, but in fact many people can (if forced by intolerant society) pigeonhole themselves into one or the other. You friend has simply liberated himself from the blind oppression forced upon 80% of the population by narrow-minded individuals like yourself.
In sum, your friend's sexuality did not change, only his ability to express it fully.

More of a preference. They decide they like the gay lifestyle better. Some are bored and just want to change their life and live in someone else's shoes.

They have begun to believe that their impulses EQUAL their real self.
Ask your hairdresser if they have ever had the impulse to take the scissors and slice somebody's neck. If they say "yes" (and you would be surprised how common that impulse is to hairdressers) then instruct them that they must have a latent "murderer" inside of them and that they should come out of the closet and murder you, because that is the way they are born. Just accept it, right?
You won't advise the hairdresser to act upon that impulse, but if you did, then you would fall for the popular advice given to those with homosexual impulses.

I think that some young women think its cool to be bisexual because they can attract and get more guys that way. I think your bisexual friend may have never been fully straight to begin with. He was curious and tried something with the same sex and realized he liked both.

He was and still is confused. All homesexuals are confused, they 'think' they are gay. They have believed a lie. Some say "God made me this way", but they need to read James 1:13-15, then go back and read 1:2-15

Perhaps the better question may be....how did they survive 20 years in a lie? Gender and sexual orientation is a complicated issue that can take a long time and many relationships to resolve. Are people lying to others? Or more likely to themselves? in this struggle to know themselves.

a lot of people are just closet cases.
Others do it for attention
Others just give up on the opposite sex.
But mostly closet cases and attention. esp girls who play to be gay only to have guys gawk at them.
Not all Bi's are like this. But with Bi people expect trouble.

Homosexuals have told us all along that their sexual orientation is not a choice -- that they are born that way.
But I have no doubt that, with regard to the guy you know, they're glad to welcome him into the fold so as to increase their numbers -- even though his "choice" is flying in the face of the gays' claim that they are "born that way."

i do not think that we can turn gay if we want. IF we can then why can't gays turn straight. It's just natural and can't be acquired. even if someone does it, i don't think it will feel right to him.
