Here's a thought...?

This category is called "Religion & Spirituality" not, "HEY CHRISTIANS, FLOOD THE MESSAGE BOARD".
Had to vent.
Now here's the question:
Do many Christians even think about the fact that their saviour was Jewish? A man went around telling others how he felt, but never did he say that he was anything other than Jewish. And why do Christians take one book over another? One telling over another? The Bible has been rewritten and retold many times, though the core of the belief hasn't changed much, many details have. And why do so many keeping telling others to "Let Jesus into their lives." Doesn't your religion say to "love thy neighbor"? Not "convert all you can do believe in what you believe"? If you are suppose to love and accepct others, why can't you accepct those of us how do not want your religious figure into our lives? Why can you only be my friend until you discover I'm atheist?

****My husband is Christian, I don't "give up" on people who are. Or people who are other religions. I have a best friend who's Jewish, one who's Hindu. This rant was just from some of the frustration I see on these message boards. Not all Christians here act like stated above, but there are plenty who do!

I know how you feel. I am the target of a lot of "Christian Rage" around here. Many of them hate me for what I stand for.

They are frustrated that christianity is in the decline because they see it as the only right and moral way of life.

They view me and Wiccans as corruptors of youth and flagrant sinners. They have no hesitations to tell me that I am wrong and they are right.

I don't think its my place to judge the beliefs of others. But i certainly don't like it that they feel that they are so much better than me.

If they would just accept, like me, that we don't as humans have all the answers. I think we could find common ground and work on peaceful coexistance.

After all, Wicca is the fastest growing religion in the US, they will have to deal with our presence one way or another.

Just had to vent, why shouldn't Christians USE the message board if a greater number of Christians are using this site wouldn't stand to reason that they would have a greater response?
1st Question: The thinking christian knows Jesus, the twelve disciples the original church were all Jewish believers.
2nd Question: Jesus plainly stated He was the only way to the Father (that is a lot more than saying I'm just Jewish
3rd Question: The majority of Christian realize The Old Testament is just as valuable as the New Testament.
4th Question: You are correct while the Bible has been passed down by many languages the core meaning remains the same.
5th question: You lack the basic understanding of the Bible. If you read acts the whole of the book is the conversion of the Jews and gentiles. This has been the mission of the church from day 1
6th Question: Love means telling the whole truth to warn them of evil and direct them on the right path
7th Question: I can be your friend and still disagree with your choices.

We flood the board because we are in the "religious" section and Christianity is OUR religion. duh! are we not allowed to have an opinion or a voice as well?
you say that you are not any religion, why are you here?

to answer your question:

1st of all, the Bible has never been re-written, it has been re-translated so that other languages can read God's word in their own language.

2nd. Yes we are to love our neighbor, the Bible tells us to. and when you love someone you naturally want to share the gospel (good news)

3. I have friends and even family that are atheist and I still love them and I am still their friend. I do tell them about God, I plant the seed, it's up to God and them to do the rest.

For God so loved the world (you) that he sent his only begotten son (Jesus) that whosoever believeth in him (Jesus) should not perish (die) but have everlasting life! For God sent not his son (Jesus) into the world to condemn it, but that the world through him (Jesus) might be saved!

The change among human and animals that we've got a "pondering brain" ... We human use our minds to do many matters in our day-to-day lifestyles... via pondering we do matters bigger... While animals bought minds .. however they do not use it. Thinking procedure is specific .. because of the obstacle you're maintain in. For a few how motives.. routinely you do not consider thoroughly that is since of the rough obstacle you're in. The extra we consider.. the well we outcome we acquire.

I know that most Christians fall into the category you outlined in your question, but I have a couple of Christian friends who are fine with my beliefs and don't ever hassle me about not going to church, or tell me I'm going to burn in hell, etc. Don't give up on someone automatically when you find out they are Christian or you will be just as bad as the ones who give up on you when they find out you are an atheist.
