It is a Book which contains facts, and truth, and is a doorway unto a path of love and truth.

This I believe; http://homelessheart.com/testimony.htm

Lets see, Imagine that you have never heard of the bible, and I told you I had a book, where a donkey talks; a snake talks; where Zombies rise out of their graves and walk around. Now lets say it also describes the sun stopping in the sky; men who live to be over 900 years old and in one chaper a man gets swallowed by a giant fish where he lives for three days.

I could go on and on but you get the idea. If you were not forcibly brain washed into believing this book you would laugh and say the book was simply a fantasy.

The trouble with questions like this on this site is that the answer depends on the point of view of the answerer. Some sects of Christianity hold that the bible is literal, other's don't. And obviously to non-Christians, the bible is just a book other folks think is important.

There is no "correct" answer, so asking it here isn't really useful.

I believe that it is. If any information has been lost in translation. It was minimal. The Bible isn't just a book of laws telling us how we should live our lives. It is also a historical record. I believe the historical data recorded in the Bible is very accurate. The gospels were written by different people but record the same story with very little variation between them.

nope, the bible is a collective of stories from the era of jesus, and earlier. BUT, none of these stories were written down until a few hundred years AFTER jesus died. now, i cant really believe that the stories didnt change at least a little bit over a few hundred years. and also, the first thing that the bible teaches us is that humans are flawed. now, i dont think anyone is going to disagree with that. so, if man is flawed, and he writes down a bunch of stories in a book, isnt it safe to say that the book is going to have at LEAST a few flaws in it? and lastly, this book was written by a group of ppl with specific views and beliefs. they were extrememly biased, whether for the better or not is your opinion.

and if you think i'm wrong, well, wheres the dinosaurs in the bible?

everythin it said is either came through or is coming through... like the little horn power is america they came from one of the 10 great nations and now it's basically ruling. and what ♪♫~Mrs. L~♫♪ says it was written by men WHO WERE GUIDED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT BECAUSE ONLY THE GOD HEAD COULD HAVE SET ALL THE HISTORY POINTS SO CORRECTLY. HOW WOULD DANIEL KNOW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IN JESUS TIME? THAT WAS THE HOLY SPIRIT AT WORK NOT MAN... THE DATES OF THE BIBLE ARE ALL CONNECTED AND THE PEOPLE WHO WROTE THE BOOKS THEY AIN'T ALL THAT CONNECTED

The world have been trying to prove the bible wrong for more than 2000 years. If the world could prove the bible wrong, then we are all doomed.

Man, the thing is it can't be "a fact." Simply because it's so many different things written by many people at different periods, and it has clearly been edited to suit some people's interests. To me it's just plain fiction - though interesting.

The Bible is a collection of books, written by men (and some women) and translated by other men and women. All of these people are fallible.

Therefore, some parts of it are certainly true, and some are certainly untrue. Obviously!

I believe parts of it are fact. I believe some of it are moral stories to pass an idea of how to act along, much like Aesop's fables.
