Eating more calories than you burn will make you gain weight, not any one food in particular.

as far as calories go, if you burn more calories than you eat, then you should be ok.
BUT, getting too much protein is also not a good thing. for example, if you workout, typically you would consume 1 gram of protein per lbs you weigh. however if you don't workout or anything, your body doesn't need nearly that much protein. the excess protein in your body will have no where to go...and it will be turned into fat. not sure why everybody only thinks calories are what cause weight gain...
i don't know how many bars you are eating a day...just dont' live off them...

If that is all you eat for breakfast then they should not make you gain weight. If you gain weight it is likely what you are eating the rest of the day. I eat soem type of breakfast bar with added protein every day as part of a low calorie weight loss plan just to ensure I am getting my needed amount of protein.

It depends on your activity level and how many calories you burn. If you eat a Pure Protein bar for breakfast, and regular meals and exrcise, I do not think you'll gain weight. You'd likely burn it off since, it;s eaten right in the morning.
Cheers

They won't affect your weight gain if you are doing 20 minutes of active exercise three times per week. This means breaking a sweat by getting your heart working. That's what burns off calories.
