This time of year Labs are shedding the winter coat like crazy here in the South. Also, if they are in unfamiliar surroundings they may shed out of being nervous. A good brushing everyday will help with the sweeping and make a very happy puppy, GL

No worries! As long as no patches, spots and the coat is thick and shinny no need to panic.
It is normal as Winter is over and they tend to loose the winter/puppy coat in spring to replace a new coat for summer. But still they shed a little after.
Try combing the pup regurlarly preferably outside/not in the house so the puppy wont shed so much and make the mess inside. Not only it can get rid of flees but it makes the coat shiny!

Labs shed during the spring and summer. Don't worry unless the dog seems otherwise unhealthy or has spots where the hair is very thin. Try taking the dog outside and brush him thoroughly once a day. Try bathing him once a week when he is shedding. Note this is why you should by a lab who's color matches the carpeting;-)

pure lab?...yes it will shed but not a lot as a german shepherd or other long hair dog.....plus if it is a lot like it is having patches, it has a prooblem, probably skin irritation, but it is summer time and it will shed...invest in lint rollers and many vacuum bags/filters, because if it is an indoor dog you have your work cut out for you. but good solution is keep your lab outside...they are high energy and would love that.

Yes. I used to work at a boarding kennel and the worst shedders we had were labs! They lose so much fur on a daily basis..it's no wonder they're not bald! Have fun sweeping, good luck!

I have short curly hair for the first time since I was 10 years old and I actually really like it but I skip my long curly locks so I am growing it back out!

hmmmn....i dont think so...because they have short hair, they are not supposed to shed as much. But I have a mongrel, even he has short hair like a lab, and he does shed a lot of hair.

It's all merely a matter of personal preference. We have short hair and guys such as it. And i prefer a man with short hair over a person with long hair because long tresses tends to make guys look too girly.
