My husband is the Tooth Fairy at our house (and I'm Santa ~ go figure). He leaves the kids a Sacagawea gold dollar for each tooth.

If not money, why not a new toothbrush or toothpaste? Or a piece of sugar-free gum? Candy would be a little counter-productive, but maybe an apple or some other healthy snack.

My daughter got $5 for the first tooth, then $2 per tooth after. My daughter knew the tooth fairy was supposed to leave money, so I never did any alternative.

The person in our house who called the tooth fairy put in a generous request. Our son got $15.00 for his first tooth, but I think the tooth fairy was trying to help him see that loosing your teeth is a normal part of growing up (he was pretty freaked out).

Depends on the tooth fairy.
I have seen the TF leave $2.00 or $3.00.
for a difficult time.....such as a surgery or a knock out with lots of blood.......I've seen the TF leave $5.00.
If your looking for things other than money, it depends on the age.
Maybe stickers? I would say gum, but would the TF really give gum? Prob not. how about a special pencil? I dont know if you're looking for something inexpensive or not....but also, you could make up a 'tooth' kit of small toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, floss, etc.....as a 'gift' from TF...but that would be more money. up to you! have fun!

the tooth fairy generally leaves $1 for normal teeth and $2 for molars. also, with the money you could leave a small note or something along those lines.

OMG heres a story... The other day my son lost his first tooth and we were going to give him $4 for his tooth. Well my dad stopped by and decided to slip a $20 under his pillow. Boy were we surprised when we woke up to my son's excitement when he found $24 under his pillow!

I would stick with the money. Other wise why even give anything? It's the tradition that makes the toothfairy stay alive.

I particularly have a 6 twelve months previous little female who lost her first tooth final week! She is amazingly smart and became doubting the full thought of the tooth fairy. We had to get very ingenious! Fairy thoughts are particularly common....while you're writing something down for him, it is going to likely be accomplished in fancy, curly, fairy writing (comprise flickers, fairy dirt) and it is going to likely be own. perchance talk with something remarkable that your son has carried out presently, or something great it is arising. enable him be responsive to that she (the fairy) is in no way a methods and has magical methods of understanding issues approximately him. solid success with this.... in spite of each thing of the difficulty we went to, our daughter became maximum excited over the money that became left for her. She did no longer care if there became a tooth fairy or no longer, she became happy with regard to the money.

If it is the first tth I would leave $5.00 along w/ a new cute toothbrush.

2nd tooth and thereafter// I would only leave a $1.00///

it is fun at first,, but after a while you tend to forget and have to tell them that sometimes the tth fairy has so many children that they will have to be the 1st on on their list the next night.

( I was deathly afraid of the tth fairy and would not sleep in my own bed.. so my mom would tell the tth fairy to leave it on the front porch that I would get it when I got up...)
