Rice is very versatile. You can add a lot of things to it to make it taste different or better.
Do you have any soy sauce? Try adding that to it.
What about tomatoes, canned or regular will work.
Some spices to add would be garlic, onion powder.
Or even a regular onion too.
Hope this helps.

Try your hand at Fried Rice. Even if your a veggie nut it's great. Cook off your rice and set to the side. Dice up any type veggies you may have and fry them in a non-sitck frying pan with a bit of butter or margirine. Once all your veggies are complete, add your rice to the mixture and mix well while frying pan is on a light heat serve when well warmed. You can add any type meat to this also if desired. Serve with Soy Sauce.

put a little oil in a frying pan and saute the uncooked rice until golden add garlic powder, basil & chili powder, saute 1 min longer. Add the appropriate amount of chicken broth (1/2 c rice = 1 cup chicken broth) and canned tomatoes (chopped). Bring to a boil then reduce the heat to a simmer, cover and cook for 15 min.
Then eat it up......you can add black beans, kidney beans etc.

If you have the ingredients, here's a damn good recipe. If you don't have the ingredients, try it some other time. This stuff is DAMN good.
Rice stuff (yes we have such creative recipe names in my family :P)
1 cup rice
3 cups water
about 1 tsp salt
1 or 2 Tbsp. butter
---
1/2 lb bacon, cut up
1/2 a large onion (preferably white)
2 1 lb cans of cooked, peeled tomatoes (she used a big can but not sure exactly how big it was heh) -- can substitute stewed tomatoes
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp oregano (optional)
salt & pepper to taste
Cook rice separately (butter is to keep it from sticking together). Set aside. Sautee bacon & onion together until onions are browning. Drain grease. Add tomatoes to bacon & onions. Add brown sugar. Mix rice in, and season to taste. Serves about 8, depending on serving size. (Leftovers can be frozen and nuked without it turning out gross.)

Make fried rice.
Chop up any leftovers you may have in your refrigerator (bits of meat, onions, veggies) into small pieces. If you have bacon, that'll work really well. Just make sure you chop it up. Add a couple of tablespoons of oil into a pan. On medium to high heat stir fry the leftovers/bacon. Add rice and stir. Add more oil if the rice starts to stick to the pan. Add soy sauce to give the rice a little color and flavor. Add salt and pepper to taste.

My brother makes this when he is up north. Make the rice as per package directions. Add 1 can bean soup and 2 cut up brats. You might have to add a little water to get it to all mix up.
We had it last weekend, it was pretty good!
