It isn't over yet, but even so worrying about it is useless. It most probable won't happen today, but it is certain it will happen one day. And from the looks of the world, its not far in the future. Could be tommorrow.

666 has nothing to do with a date. Besides which today is 06/06/06. The number referred to a person not a date. There never was or could there be a date 6/6/6, there would alway be the zeroes

Uhh, Why don't you go back to June 6, 1906 and find out what happened on that day? Or June 6th 1806? Wasn't that 06/06/06?

Or even 1666AD... nothing special. If you buy a video game and it comes up to $16.66, does that mean that that video game is cursed, or evil, or horrid just for the price? Don't get me wrong, the video game may be evil and horrid, but the price didn't make it that.

The Mark of the beast is 666, that is his number. His number is not 060606... People freak out over little things. There are More important things in the world to think about then thinking that a "day" is going to kill the world.

Think on this... If there was no Gregorian calendar, this would just be another day amongst the thousands.... no name, no number.

Even assuming that "666" referred to a date, it wouldn't be today. Why? Here's why:

1. The Bible may or may not be the inspired Word of God (I believe it is, but that's beside the point). What it DEFINITELY is, is an accurate, reliable book of Jewish history.

2. That means that the dates in the Bible (40 years, etc.) follow the JEWISH calendar, which is based on the moon, not the JULIAN calendar, which is based on the sun and which most cultures use (some use an updated version of the Julian that was readjusted for "leap years," called the Gregorian calendar).

3. My sister is Jewish, and just got married - in the year five-thousand, seven-hundred and something (I think it was 5719, but wouldn't swear to that). The Jewish date 6/6/06 happened a long, long time ago.

4. If the number referred to a date, it would refer to a date on the JEWISH calendar, which we don't follow and which already passed 6/6/06!

That is doesn't mean anything significant other than what people are making of it.
666 originates from the Bible and it is stated in Scripture that it is the mark of the beast, a man' number, and not a date, so, this is just second to the most non-event ever hyped up (next to 1999's New Year's Eve).
I actually just wrote a BLOG about 666 and some facts on this wild number and it's circulation around evil and the Bible...
I hope you enjoy it- which is my longer versioned answer...

To start with, the number of the beast is six hundred sixty six, it's not a date or three repeated numerals.

Second off, even if it was, the date wouldn't be 6-6-2006, it would have refered to 6-6-0006.

Third, how funny can it get, that people freak out over a date?

People are so gullible. But then, I knew that... I work in tech support.
