Water is a natural liquid which our body has running all throughout it anyway - Anything else then that (IE Pop, Booze) it makes the urine more yellow.
As well as if you are sick you should notice it is more yellow.
EIther way if your urine isnt clear you should drink more water for sure and THERE ARE NO DUMB questions :)

Water has nothing in it. Other drinks have to be filtered by your kidneys, and the residue (excess vitamins if any, dyes, preservatives, etc.) form the liquid waste we know as urine. Why is it yellow? Well . . . I used to know the answer. I think it has something to do with a coating the kidneys place on the waste, but I'm not entirely sure anymore.
That's also why urine is darker when you've been drinking less - there's less liquid in it to dilute its color.

water is the best thing you can drink. urine is a waste product that's produced by your kidneys doing a lot of filtering of nutrients and getting rid of the waste. water is one of the #1 things our body is made up of -- and needs -- to aid in this process. so when you drink things with carbonation and sugar or fake sugar or cow's milk, thing that are not water, there are a lot more waste products. there are no nutrients in these things (milk has some of course) so your body uses it's own water to clean out the junk and without drinking extra water -- the urine is darker yellow with waste and lack of water. vitamins will turns your urine BRIGHT YELLOW! ;)

Because urine carries impurities out of the body. The more water you drink, the more diluted it is. If it appears cloudy, that's often a good sign of a urinary tract infection brewing, as the cloudiness comes from white blood cells in the urine. WBC's are there because they fight infection in the bladder, then get flushed out.

If you overhydrate, your body just uses the extra water to create more urine. Therefore your urine is more diluted and looks clearer. Soda and milk are not pure water, and you will become less hydrated by drinking them compared to drinking plain water; therefore your urine is less diluted and will appear yellower.

Makes sense, doesn't it? I'm guessing we pee clear because water is clear, and pee is colored when we drink colored drinks because whatever chemicals are in them react with our bodies to produce leftovers, yellow pee. Okay, it's a very crude guess.

It actually has more to do with how hydrated you are .... water tends to hydrate best but it is all about how concentrated the urine is. The more you drink the more water there is in the water/waste ratio of your urine resulting in a lighter color.

You will also find that tea, coffee and alcoholic beverages make your urine yellow. This happens because water doesn't have all the other compounds that the other stuff has.Just for fun,try drinking beet juice. It runs red.

Water is clear and better for you.. so I guess that it just comes out clear and doesn't smell as much cause it's healthier.
I don't know why everything else is yellow.
