If it's the border patrol doing the catching, usually the people caught are held at a local/regional border patrol facility before being sent back - _IF THE ILLEGALS ARE MEXICAN_. Contact the Border Patrol about location, status, etc., if you know the name.
If the illegals are "Other Than Mexican" they are given a court date and released on their own recognizance. Look for those anywhere in the U. S.

As of right now the current law its still in effect. If you get caught crossing the border you will be booked, your background will be checked for any warrants and for previous attempts. If your record is clear, after booking you they will take you to the nearest border center and released you back to your country of origin.

That would depend on the nationality of the illegal.
If they are Mexican or Canadian they will be detained and sent right back across the border, anyone else is detained until a court date (unless the detention center is full of Mexicans then they are released on their own recognizance and expected to come to court. yea right)
It would also depend on who caught them if it is boarder patrol, the above applies. If it is anyone else, the results will vary from the above statement all the way to having a noose put around their neck and hung from a sturdy tree or possibly a worse fate than that.

When someone crosses illegally - Americans line up, remove their pants, spread their cheeks, and start shooting logs at them. Then when they are done they smear their butts on the border. thank you and have an intoxicated day.

The border patrol gets them, typically. However, if they are hurt, someone may take them to a hospital.
