It is possible, but most times the at home tests work just as well. A lot of clinics use the same type of test that you can buy at the store. I would buy an at home test. A lot cheaper and mor confidential than going to the doctor. If the test comes up negative, don't panic, just wait until you miss your period then take another one. (most kits come w/ two tests in them) The biggest thing is not to worry either way. Either you are or you aren't.

if youre due for your period in a week and a half that means you're only a few days past conception. blood tests cannot tell this early - and most doctors wont do one until your period is due/late.

HCG shows up within a few days after implantation - and implantation occurs around day 7-10 after conception. so day 10-14 would be when the HCG was built up enough to show in a test.

Pregnancy tests measure the level of a hormone called hCG in the blood or urine. You have to see a doctor for a blood test. There are two kinds of blood tests:

Blood tests can tell if you are pregnant about 6 to 8 days after you ovulate (release an egg from an ovary).

A QUANTitative blood test (or the beta hCG test) measures the exact amount of hCG in your blood. So it can find even tiny amounts of hCG. This makes it very accurate.

QUALitative hCG blood tests just check to see if the pregnancy hormone is present or not. So it gives a yes or no answer. (The QUALitative hCG blood test is about as accurate as a urine test.)

Yes, but the levels will be very low if you are. You will most likely have to go back and retest a week later.
