Quark Xpress is NOTHING like Photoshop which is specifically designed for image and photo manipulation and creation, but rather Quark is a layout program similar to Adobe Pagemaker or the currently popular Adobe InDesign. Quark is mainly used to layout various types of print publications like magazines, newspapers, brochures, pamphlets etc. Quark has been around for YEARS and is generally considered the industry standard, but is a little buggy and definitely NOT a perfect program. Adobe introduced InDesign as a solution to problems that occured with Quark as well as integrating a little bit of Photoshop into it. Its a great program, but not all printers are set up to recieve InDesign files just yet...
