How do I make The sims work on PC?

When ever I try to download sims it always says component transfer error! Somebody please help me!!!!!!!

First off i'm gonna need to know what OS u r using and which sims ur trying to load?..:)

so your not installing it from the cd?
are you trying to install it from a torrent, p2p download ( if this is the case its porberly misssing files)
or if you're download the whole game download the ones that say .bin, .img since these are exact copies of the game which is illgeal to do.
