Not deathly afraid but yes I am afraid of live chickens and roosters especially. I was attacked once by a rooster. He was on a ledge and as I passed by he jumped on my back. I was only about 10 years old. Since then I do not get near them.

We used to have chickens and my best friend was terrified. The funny part is this was only 4 or five years ago when we were 15! Not to mention he grew up on a farm!

hehe, thanks for the question, the answers were all very interesting, I myself, am not afraid of chickens, I have lived on a farm now for a while, and let me tell you when I first moved here, I would walk out to the barn to feed, and we let our chickens run free, so as we would walk out to the barn it looked like little gremlins coming at you, wanting there food, and girl it would scare the **** out of me... But after a while you will realize that they wont bother you, they are more afraid of you than you are of them, but Fighting roosters as some people call them are diffrent, they will peck at you, or bite you, but we have ours caged up, so they dont kill each other, thanks for the ? good luck n god bless

no. they're actually quite cute, i think. but that has to depend on what type or chicken you referred. some chickens are fierce, like the wild chickens inside forest. but domestic chickens are tame. they may run away when you get near them. i rear some chickens here in malaysia. they are not the kind of chickens that you eat, though. they are kinda like pet chickens, with beautiful feathers and small in size, which makes them cute. they have sharp claws, but if you don't really pose threat to them, they will not attack you. my chickens also get near me when i called out some kind of sounds.(not clucking though...) you can train this by calling out certain sounds (except the sounds of animals that they fear, like hissing or growling), and giving them food. just like any other pets you train. so, bear in mind that not every chickens are fierce. some are tame, too.

I don't like chickens and don't eat chicken. I will eat eggs though. I just don't like chickens. Everybody thinks I'm weird because I won't eat chicken. I don't like the taste. Best question ever!

I think that's normal. I myself am not afraid of them, but my aunt is. She was attacked by one when she was a little girl and now fears all birds. Chickens have nasty razor like claws and really can hurt you.
Don't feel bad.

My relationship with chicken revolves around the fact that they taste good. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever been around any that were not frozen, cooked or soon-will-be cooked...
