Islam continually states that it is a religion of peace yet the mullahs state their opinion and it is taken as the total and complete truth, whether it is to send out suicide bombers, call the USA the devil, or say or do other things totally at odds with reality. Under totalitarianism don't the populace have to follow whatever the leaders say without hesitation? Isn't that what we are seeing?

reading right now a book by a muslim lesbian who is talking about the problems with islam

its clearly an uphill battle

there are several books at the library, i try and reserve judgement until ive read at least a few points of view

so if you asked this same question of me in a month id have more of an inclination

initially however, with from what i read in my other book about world religions, regarding the divisions between sunni and shia, im thinking that there is a history of which caliphate will be given preference for interpretation of the quran,

which leads to theocracy of muscle to enforce interpretation

not all muslim countries are actually following the teaching of Islam, they come up with rules from their own to suite life today. only Sudia Arabia as i believe. and muslims are requied to follow the Sharia (islamic laws of life)

no freedom at all! Why not send all islamic women to colleges and give them equal rights with men. tough!
another thing why not tolerate another religion to preach and speak in public islamic colleges and universities? tough!
