No, not all religions believe we are alone in the universe. The Seventh day Adventists and the LDS churches both believe there are other planets created for men to live on, but both churches also say that they can not reach us, and we can not reach them.

I don't know about the evidence, but I would like to think that it would be a whole waste of good real estate if we are the only ones.
But then again, if we are to live forever with Christ and the Father when he returns, we may need all that space to have something to do. I'm sure we just won't sit around and watch TV all day long in eternity.
That certainly is one question I intend to ask. Are we alone. But we are not, Heaven is a large place I would guess and we are never told how many angels there are, just that 1/3 went with Satan.

Some religions discount life forms in our star systems. I'm not religious and I discount it and there is lack of evidence of it.

I believe that with God, all things are possible. I think it is very possible that there is life in other star systems. Why not, is the way I see it. I know lots of religious people who feel the same way. God gave us the capability to figure all this stuff out, and I think He expects us to use it.

I am religious and I think there is a possibility of life out there. I see all those stars (thousands visible) and to me the idea that not one of those stars has a planet on it with life on it is absurd. The chances are much lower it is intelligent life. I also think if there is intelligent life that can manage space travel, they are smart enough to avoid us like the plague.
As others said, what definite proof do you have?

There's nothing in the scriptures that deal with people who live in other star systems, so it's not a religious matter. So, I wouldn't say it's discounted, just irrelevant to our faith.
But it would be interesting to hear from those from way out there what their faiths are like.

I do not discount the possibility, I do not think there is any evidence yet.
BTW, I consider myself to be a religious person.

1.It's impossible to answer for "all the religious people", but I am a Christian who speaks for herself, and not for Christians in general.
2. It is possible, but doesn't really make a difference
3. Space and planets were created for God's glory. The existence of planets outside our solar system is still somewhat hypothetical, some "discoveries" have turned out to be erroneous and many are unverified, but if there are extra-solar system planets then these too were created for the glory of God.

There's very little evidence to support --- much of is assumption. I think it's possible there is life elsewhere --- why do I think so --- there are some strange people walking around on Earth and often I think they are from another planet!

Not all religion ignore that there are other lives out there in the distant planet away from our system.
Buddhism, for example tells the existences of other living beings in the universe in the Sutra; a recording of Buddha's conversation with his students. He mentioned other living beings in other world whether they're on a distant planet or another dimensions, he also describe their living environment as well as their social orders.
I'm sure there are other religion that talks about it too.
