Your information is incorrect.
What Catholics call "the rosary" has its origins in the Arabian culture of the Middle East. There the string of beads, usually in a more simple arrangement than the elaborate "rosary", is known as "worry beads" and used for more than two millennia to calm the mind and pass time.
During the time of the Crusades European knights and clerics encountered the beads and soon saw a new item which could make extra money for the church. They imported the beads to Europe, reorganised them into the "rosary" structure and sold them to millions and millions of people. A good money-making opportunity for the Church and another way to brainwash the people by making them pray for hours the same words in a senseless litany.
While "worry beads" in the Middle East are almost exclusively used by men, in the Catholic Church women are more often the users of the "rosary" than men. It is a sad tool that should not be used at all.

Sorry, but you are wrong. The appearance of Our Lady of Lourds is recent compared to the origin of the Rosary. In fact its format has changed over the years. Quite a long and fascinating subject, too long to discuss here, but the CTS (on the net) should be able to tell you where you can obtain a small booklet and find out more about its history. Interestingly, although the Rosary itself is ancient, the use of beads as an aid to counting the prayers, is more recent and was probably borrowed from other religions, notably Hinduism and Islam.

According to tradition, in 1214 the Virgin Mary gave to St. Dominic the basic form of the Rosary as it is known today. The attribution to St Bernadette comes from the 15th century.
The beads are an adaption from Islamic and Hindu practice beforehand.

The beads help you to count the right amount of hail marys. A decade of the rosary is obviously ten hail marys. but a full rosary is five decades which is based on five stories which fall in to three categories. in between each decade there is an our father, a glory be and summat about jesus savin us from the fires of hell (i'm not kiddin) and at the end of the five decades there's some other stuff too, but essentially the beads help u keep track of where u are. ta da

A set of Rosary beads usually contains 50 beads in groups of ten (a decade), with an additional large bead before each decade. Some beads have been known to have one hundred or one hundred and fifty. These numbers were chosen to match the number of psalms, or a third or two-thirds of them. Although counting the prayers on a string of beads is customary, the prayers of the Rosary do not actually require a set of beads, but can be said using any type of counting device, or even by counting on one's fingers.
The beads can be made from a wide variety of materials, including wood, bone, glass, semi-precious stones such as agate, jet, amber, or jasper, or precious materials including coral, rock crystal, gilded silver and gold. In the 19th and early 20th century they are sometimes made from the seeds of the "rosary pea" or "bead tree". Modern beads are most often glass, resin (plastic) or wood. Early rosaries were strung on strong thread, often silk, but modern ones are more often made as a series of chain-linked beads.
It is especially common for beads to be made of material with some special significance, such as jet from the shrine of St. James at Compostela, or olive seeds supposedly from the Garden of Gethsemane. Beads are sometimes made to enclose sacred relics, or drops of holy water.

Christianity and catholicism are not the first or only people to use beads for meditative purposes. using beads to count, for example, the number of times something has been said or to guide prayers is a common, widespread practice occurring in different religions and cultures. I'm no expert but this is my understanding. Prayer beads probably predate christianity.

Some of you know absolutetly nothing about the Holy Rosary! The Rosary was given to St. Dominic of Guzman from Our Lady.
90% of the prayers are found in the Bible. The Prayer of Fatima is said after the Glory Be, the prayer of Fatima is the one that says "O My Jesus...Delivers from the fires of hell..." and No, they were not found during the crusades, the rosary predates that.

People have been making beads for thousands of years. I'm sure they found that some small stones could have a hole worn through them, or they did it with seeds.

They were a pagan practice that the pagan catholics chose to continue in their practices. You will not find true Christians using any form of rhetoric praying as a means of communcating with Jesus Christ or God, but will find them allowing the Holy Spirit to guide their hearts and minds for the words to be said.
