Oh, man! I do not know what you mean, man. Hahaha.

Quit focusing on the single word. Listen to what they are really saying. Sometimes people (not just guys) say things like "man" or "dude" or "like" or "well". It is often just a way to fill in a spot where they do not what else to say. Or sometimes it is used as an emphases. But like I said, start listening to the concept of what is being said instead of any specific phrase.

Yeah, they do. I think its because when they are trying to get their point across, they want to emphasize to you how much they feel on a particular topic. I hate it when everybody uses catch phrases a lot. For example, " For real girl?" " Come and holla at your boy." And, this is my all-time favorite that girls tend to use ALL the time " Let me tell you something." Or, even most recently, " Stop playing!!" I can understand you wanting to get your point across, and all the hand gestures just arent doing it for you, but, come one, why MUST you always repeat yourself over and over? I find that to be tedious and annoying.

Well whenever i chat with my friends we use "man" or "dude" in every sentence. Althought, that doesnt prove that we cant have a proper conversation. Its just more convenient. For example when u read something here funny u say "lol" or "indeed this is funny" ?

Young people tend to use highly affected language and slang. It will go away as they get older and are not trying to hard to be cool.

It's not just men, I do it too.
Sometimes I substitute 'man' for 'dude', but the result stays the same.
