What part of NC are talking about?
I am from NC if you have any questions you may email me!
But I guess it depends on what kind of lifestyle you prefer!
I am definitely not a big fan on uprooting children- I did that and I wish I hadn't.

You will have to make up your mind on this. But I live in South Carolina, and my Parents moved to North Carolina. They are moving back. Things are still Old Fashion and a bit backward in places. The culture shock may not sit well with you. On the other hand, it is slower paced in our rural communities and busy in the larger Cities.
The schools here have wonderful teachers, but your children will most likely be advanced compared to most.
I have a 20 year old son that lived in Cali, and has been back here for two years. His words;" I am moving back" too slow here and the people are too demanding"

I moved to NC 17 years ago with my daughter when she was one month old. It is a good place to raise children. It might be a little boring at first for your 14 year old. It just depend where you are moving.

DUDE stay in Cali man i mean why leave we have perfect weather, beaches every one else in the country wants to live here maybe when you feel more comfortable with moving you should move but not as far as NC stay closer to home on the west coast. BUT its all up to you regardless of what we choose for you to do only you can make your decision for your self and no one else can make it for you.

Visit 1st..do alot of research (even tho that doesnt always stay true to the findings), weigh pros and cons..
NC has many plus areas and is a growing state but I would really think about all aspects of NC fully.

Well, it is always easy to make new friends, whereever you go, but you only have one family and they are only around until they pass away. You need to consider what you feel is most important to you and your children. I hate being three hours away from my family, because my son never got to grow up with his cousins (he and they are in their early to mid teens now) and every time he goes over there to visit he feels like an outcast because they are all growing up together and he is not there with them. Three hours may not seem like a terrible amount of time, but we have a large family and it is hard to get there even once a month to just go to see them all. Think about it, and weigh the pros and cons, and then make your decision. Good luck!

No one is able to predict the future. Only your head and heart can make that choice. Sounds like you'd like to make the move.
As usual, fear of the unknown is stopping you. Have you ever been to NC? Might help to take an extended trip. You may either love it, or hate it. Sometimes decisions 'make' themselves.
Also jot ALL the pros and cons on paper...So that you can see it all in black and white!
Good luck with possibly an awesome adventure! :)

Definitely move to NC, it's the s***! You'll love i there and it's soo easy to make new friends, they're soo cool down there. I love it. I go down all the time just to meet new people. It's soo much fun and there's so much to do and it's cheaper to live to. And it's the only state that has mountains, plains, and the ocean. Cool fact.

If you value family more than the great California weather, then moving would be the best thing for you. Freinds come and go, but family is forever.
