My son is 2 years old. He has peed in his potty once, but wont do it anymore. He loves going in there to sit, but gets bored after about 30 seconds and gets up. And the bigger issue is he like to take his undies/diaper off and poop on his bedroom floor. I cant take it any more...its driving me insane!! My girls NEVER did this. Has anyone else ever dealt with this?? Any advice????

I have tried putty the potty chair in here for him, he just doesnt sit still for long, period. He is always on the go! As for the onsie thing, well...he is just too smart for that...he already knows how to dress and undress himself, I dont think that would work too well. But, thank you for your responses.

Do you punish him when he does wrong? I suspect he will learn that using the floor is wrong, if you punish him for it. If you just smile and clean it up every time, he may never learn right from wrong.

YES! My son is potty training also and he used to get very bored with just sitting at the potty. If there is a male figure around...this is where they can come into SERIOUS play. Have your son go into the bathroom with the male. Then have the male say that this is how big boys go potty and have him watch the male go potty. Then put cheerios in the toilet. This works well on a little potty that sits on the floor or if you have a normal sized potty then make sure you have a step stool. Then make a game out of making the pee hit the cheerios. Believe it or not, and i learned the hard way cuz my son was driving me crazy with pooping on his floor.....you can't discipline him for it. It drives you crazy! You need to take a breather and then take him in his room and show him what he has done. say this is very nasty and this is not what big boys do. If he wants to do big boy things like get toys and watch cartoons then he has to act like a big boy by going potty in the potty. Ask him every 20 minutes if he has to go potty. most likely, he will say no all day long so you have to make him go everytime you ask him. eventually he gets tired of being bugged and you'll feel better. You really have to observe him and know when he has to poop and give him absolutely no chance to do it in his diaper or undies. this will aggrivate him and he will be scared to do it on the potty but if you just stay with him he will have to go so bad that he'll do it on the potty. you'll have a breakthrough! hang in there.....

2 yrs old is a little young but you can make it happen. For my son I got him to train at that age by taking him to the store to pick out his favorite chatacter underwear and a small carpet. I placed the potty on the small carpet on the floor in the room he spent time in the most the living room put in a kids show at potty time Max and Ruby was what mine watched. Told him that if he pees on the potty he can wear his favorite underwear. Once he actually did I praised him let him pick out his underwear and told him to really try not to have an accident because dirty underwear is garbage. When they test you and he will you don't scold you remind them to use the potty you then take the underwear and place them in a bag puting them in the area of the garbage and once he is napping or sleeping wash them but do not return them to the choice pile for about a week as they will not remeber. My son could not stand the idea of throwing out spiderman, scooby doo, or bob the builder underwear and tried really hard not to have accidents. He was trainded in just over a week. Scolding can create a fear you don't want that and at age 2 most pediatricians will not discuss potty training issues.

Relax. My son did the same thing. I was showering and he ran in screaming, covered in poop. He had to go and decided to poop inside my husbands brand new sneakers. It was quite funny, but the point is that boys usually take longer than girls to train. Put him back in the diapers/pull-ups. Whatever and just ask him when you go if he needs too. Sooner or later he will start noticing when he has to go. Also my son is now 5 and he still waits until the very last minute to go. They are so busy that they forget that it is important. I got a call from his school that he had wet himself, when I asked him why he didn't go he said because he was learning to much in class. Boys have signs of when they need to go. Grabbing themselves, dancing, whatever, watch your son for his signs and then instruct him to go potty, or you take him in there and help with running water or something useful.

Well I know that boys go a lot more than girls thats for sure. I also have a 2 yr old boy. My son has been going to the bathroom well actually letting me know that he has do it since he turned 2 so he has been getting it on peeing but pooing is another one. He has gone a few times on the potty but other times he does it while he is wearing his pull-ups. So I hope I'm not confusing him about that one but him wearing pull-ups thats when he should go poo-poo. But I haven't dealt with thank goodness. I've found that letting him go outside helped my son. But it can backfire because my son thinks he can just drop his shorts and shoot his pee anywhere that he drops his pants. Geesh thats bad I should stop that and nip it in the butt, but its so convient when we are outside. Well anyways GOOD LUCK! He will get the hang of it sometime just don't rush him.

It sounds like maybe he's not ready for the potty. Most boys don't potty train until their closer to 3. I would reccommend using tape to prevent the diaper coming off, just to save the mess. I believe kids will do it with little effort when they're ready. God Bless

My godson used to do this. I let him run around naked and put the potty in front of the tv. Then put on a favorite video and he would sit on it and (eventually) go. Or when you know he has to go, you can try sitting him on the big potty and stay with him and then when he's done give him a reward. Good luck!

PS
Don't punish him. He's not a dog.

You need to train him in which to move. He's an eight week historical dog. How can he be trained? Take him external at all times and present him with meals whilst he poops/pees available in the market. If he does not, blank up the mess and hold going. in no way hit or punish him for going interior. It's your fault if he does, now not his. Be steady and continuously external.

Put him on the potty, then hand him a phone and you take another one (cell phone for you and the home for him) tell him when he pees in the potty to call you and you will call his favorite character for him. Blues Clues, Spiderman, Batman whoever. Then when he calls you and you see if he went potty "call" their hero on the phone and walk out call the child on their phone and then imitate the heroes voice for them on the phone! I Did it with my son and worked so quick i couldnt believe it! Good luck
