I don't know where you live so it's hard to say, but most phone books list some help places in the front under "Community Services" or somehting like that.
If you can't get counseling, try talking to a friend about your problems. Sometimes just talking about something helps.
One other thing helps a lot with depression. You wouldn't think it does because it's so simple, but it really helps. That is exercise. Even just walking. Please try it for three weeks then let me know.
Click on the blue under my pic. You can 'talk' to me.

I am not in such a hurry to help you quickly. Moreover, the ailment of depression is not an easy job to handle in one or two days of counselling. It can take months together, and no counsellor can provide free help for such a long treatment. However, if I come to know such a gentleman to provide free social service, I must tell you.

Find a local crisis hotline in your area, ask for referrals and explain your situation, there a lot of non profit counseling centers that work on a sliding fee schedule meaning you pay what you can afford. Most centers will work with you and will not deny you needed services. The state and county usually have clinics that offer their services to residents. There is plenty of places to go, you just have to be willing to find them. Don't give up

I wish you luck. The depression support groups on yahoo is where I started, but it tends to be people posting but no one replies. I'd go back to you school and talk to the guidence councellor (schools are required to have one) and see if that office would be willing to sponsor a group therapy session.

These are all excellent responses. I've been where you seem to be so can say that simply talking to someone can help immensely. Don't worry about not having $ to pay. There's help out there.
